LifeLabs is one of the most popular medical testing services in Vancouver, and you’ll likely come across them if you need blood work or any lab tests done. They have a bunch of locations across the city.
You can schedule an appointment or check wait times on LifeLab’s website. It’s also a good idea to create an account on their MyCareCompass platform, which lets you view your results online once they’re ready. You’ll need your healthcare card, so have that handy.
Sometimes, depending on the location, they allow booking, sometimes they don’t.
Walk-ins are possible, but I’d try booking ahead or checking wait times before going. Most tests are covered under MSP if you’re a resident of BC, but if you need something outside of what's covered, make sure to ask about costs upfront.
If you do go in there with an appointment, make sure to go up and present yourself. They have a TV with a list of names, but if you don’t sign in, they might skip you. It’s a bit confusing.
