Recommending you the best internet providers. You can shop around, but you need to check if they are available in your building.
I went down a rabbit hole scouring the internet so you don’t have to.
What I realized, is that you don’t have too much of a choice. What I would do, is enter your address for these two to see if they service your building. They sound like they are the best, have the best customer service, least downtime, best coverage, cheaper, and overall more modern and less archaic than Shaw, Rogers, Bell and Telus.
For my case, my building doesn’t have these yet unfortunately, but already has Telus. My building apparently had an offer, but I had to call, then they tried to sneak in other costs, I had to negotiate a bit and ended up getting lower than what is online. I got 250gb (upload/download) $57.50 per month + tax, and they threw in a Google Box I don’t really need.
My only other option was Shaw, and the benefit of Telus is that it has fibre internet, but I think this is less important than how reliable it is. Apparently Telus doesn’t work in even major areas, so I’d ask your building manager or friends living in the area how it works for them.
Ultimately, I had less choice than I thought.
After having Telus for a while now, it has a high uptime and works quickly, and hasn’t had any outages so I can’t complain.
Not in the city?
I looked into Starlink, but it is hella expensive, and is not as good with speed as the other providers in cities, but if you are living way in the burbs, it sounds very worth it and you should look into it.
